Austin Laubach

Software engineering intern. I build command-line tools, web apps, and games.
My strongest skills are Linux, networking, and setting up systems.

strengths

Linux

I use Arch Linux (EndeavourOS) every day and handle installs, configuration, and fixes from the command line.

Networking

I helped build the networking lab at Sollers Point Technical High School: two interconnected networks, each with 6 switches and 6 routers. I handled most of the software and configuration.

Systems setup

I built a forwarder that carries GPIB instrument traffic over a USB serial connection, and I run Python networking services on Linux that start on boot through systemd.

Deployment

I took this site from buying the domain to DNS, HTTPS, and automatic deploys on Cloudflare.

gantry

in progressOct 2026 – now

A desktop app for job seekers that finds matching postings and prepares an application for each one.

  • You review every application and submit it yourself with one click.
  • Working today: discovery from Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards, the SimplifyJobs lists and Hacker News "Who is hiring?"
  • Duplicates are removed and your filters applied.

Boo & Breakfast

in progressOct 2026 – now

A cooperative multiplayer game for 2–6 players: you and your friends run a cozy haunted inn for monster guests.

Built for Handshake's AI Skills Studio Challenge

  • Each player holds part of the puzzle, so rooms, amenities and overnight problems get solved together.
  • Runs in the browser or as a Linux build, on its own multiplayer server.

noverview

Apr 2026

A Firefox extension that hides Google's AI Overviews and other AI-generated boxes, leaving only links to websites.

  • Loads several pages of results into one.
  • Backs off on its own if Google rate-limits it.
  • Collects no data.
